CALYX
Patent PendingAutonomous wildfire defense

Automatic wildfire protection for your home.

Calyx senses wildfire and shrouds your home in a water-cooled shield, in seconds, without you lifting a finger.

The Threat

It's not the wall of fire. It's the embers ahead of it.

Wind carries burning embers up to a mile ahead of a wildfire. They land on roofs, in vents, on decks, and ignite the house long before the fire front arrives. Conventional defenses don't stop them.

The System

This is Calyx.

When Calyx senses fire, four telescoping towers rise from your property and draw a perforated, water-cooled curtain around the whole lot, sealing the home inside a fire-resistant shell. Like an airbag, it stays hidden until the instant you need it. The name comes from the calyx: the casing that shields a flower bud before it blooms.

Calyx deployed: four towers draw a perforated, water-cooled curtain around the whole property, sealing the home while neighboring houses burn (visualization).

The Sequence

How it works.

  1. 01
    Sense

Smoke and heat sensors detect wildfire conditions, or you trigger it yourself, from anywhere.

  2. 02
    Rise

Four telescoping towers rise from the corners of your property in seconds.

  3. 03
    Shroud

A perforated, fire-resistant curtain draws around your whole property, sealing the home inside.

  4. 04
    Cool

Water weeps through the curtain, cooling the shell and turning back radiant heat and embers.

FAQ

Common questions.

What does Calyx cost?

We're not sharing pricing publicly yet. Reserve your place in line and you'll be first to get it.

What triggers it?

Smoke and heat sensors detect wildfire conditions and deploy automatically, or you trigger it yourself, from anywhere.

What if the power or water is cut during a fire?

Calyx runs on onboard battery backup, so it works when the grid goes down.

Has it been tested?

Calyx is patent-pending and engineered to hold 80 mph winds and block direct flame.

How is Calyx different from sprinklers, gels, or fire wraps?

Each of those needs a person, a warning window, or a working water main: sprinklers wet the house but lean on water pressure that often fails in a fire, gels must be sprayed hours ahead and dry out in fire weather, and wraps take a crew most of a day and cover only the structure. Calyx is different by design — it deploys itself in under two minutes, encloses the whole lot behind a physical water-cooled barrier, and runs on battery when the grid is down.
